These are some of the tallest and most spectacular dunes in all of Morocco, rising up to 150 meters and attracting travelers from every corner of the world.
Our guides will pick you up from your Marrakech Riad and take you on a 3 days tour from Marrakech to the desert via the Dades Valley via the Tizi-n-Ticheka Atlas pass (2260 m). From the pass, you will have stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains, which are dotted with Berber villages. We continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore the site with your guide. After that, we eat lunch nearby before continuing on the Kasbah Road to the Dades Valley, where we will spend the first night.
Today our new day adventure from Dades Valley in the morning before continuing to Erg Chebbi in the Sahara desert at Merzouga. Berber villages dot the route as we visit the famous Todra Gorge, where we will stop for an hour to walk through these stunning Moroccan canyons. Continue through the villages of Tinjdad, Jarf, and Erfoud until you reach the Erg Chebbi dunes. Before riding camels to the dunes to watch the sunset, we stop for tea. Spend the night in a luxury camp.
We rise Early to watch the sunrise in the dunes, and then eat breakfast before returning to Marrakech. We return to Ouarzazate via a slightly different route through the dry landscape of the Saghro Mountains, passing through Alnif, Tazzarine, and N’Koub, as well as the beautiful Valley of Draa, the old camel caravans’ main trading road. After returning via the Tizi-n-Ticheka Pass, we arrive in Marrakech in the early evening.
